After seeing my work for Tracksmith, two Bostonians commissioned me to create a personal map of The Charles River.
This ink illustration was created on Khadi's white rag recycled cotton paper. A large piece at 70 x 35cm, with some detailed work depicting some of their highlights along this iconic river - their favourite bridges, along with landmarks such as Harvard Stadium, Fenway Park, the State House, New England Aquarium, and a branch of their number one place for ice cream, J.P. Licks.
This rough textured cotton paper couldn't be more different to work on than my usual super smooth claybord panels, but it was just as enjoyable, and the result on a par I think. Definitely a surface I'd like to do more with in future.
